Privacy Policy
Last updated July 2026
Yumi Health Group LLC ("Yumi Health", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website and services, how we use it, and your choices. It applies to the website at https://www.yumihealthgroup.com and any related digital services we operate.
Please read this policy carefully. By using our site or services you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in two ways: information you give us directly, and information collected automatically as you use our site.
Information you provide directly may include:
- Contact details — name, email address, phone number, mailing address.
- Health and eligibility information — date of birth, Medicare or Medicaid status, household size, annual income, current medications, and health conditions — that you share so we can compare or recommend coverage options.
- Identification details — such as your Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) or Social Security Number — only when required to complete an enrollment.
- Communications you send us — questions, appointment requests, form submissions, and replies to emails or text messages.
Information collected automatically may include:
- Browser type, operating system, and device type.
- Pages viewed, time spent on pages, and referring URLs.
- IP address and general geographic location (city/region level).
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies — see the Cookies section below.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To quote, compare, and help you enroll in health-insurance plans that fit your needs.
- To contact you about your inquiry, appointment, or coverage — by phone, email, or text message (with your consent where required).
- To process and track applications submitted on your behalf.
- To provide ongoing service and support after enrollment.
- To send you renewal reminders, plan-change notices, and other communications relevant to your coverage.
- To improve our website, products, and services through aggregate analytics.
- To comply with applicable laws and regulations.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to service your coverage:
- Insurance carriers — to obtain quotes, submit applications, and manage your policy.
- Government programs— such as the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) or the NJ marketplace (Get Covered NJ) — when submitting or verifying enrollment.
- Service providers — technology, communication, and administrative vendors acting on our behalf under confidentiality agreements.
- Legal obligations — when required by law, regulation, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our clients or the public.
4. Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep our site functional, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use the site. Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect certain features of the site but will not prevent you from requesting a quote or speaking with an advisor.
5. Your Choices and Rights
You have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your information, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Opt out of marketing communications at any time by replying STOP to any text message, using the unsubscribe link in any email, or contacting us directly.
- Request that we not share your information for purposes beyond servicing your coverage.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@yumihealthgroup.com or (201) 633-7713.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews — to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; however, we take reasonable steps to safeguard your data.
Health and eligibility information you provide is treated with additional care and accessed only by licensed agents and staff who need it to service your coverage.
7. TCPA and Consent to Contact
By submitting your phone number through our website or request forms, you consent to receive calls and/or text messages from Yumi Health Group LLC at the number provided, including via automated technology or pre-recorded messages, for the purpose of discussing health-insurance options. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time.
8. SMS & Text Messaging
When you provide your phone number and check the SMS consent box on our website (available in the chat widget and contact form at https://www.yumihealthgroup.com), you agree to receive text messages from Yumi Health and our licensed insurance agents about your inquiry, plan options, and appointment reminders.
SMS Program Disclosures:
- Messaging frequency may vary.
- Message & data rates may apply.
- To opt out: Reply STOP to opt out at any time. You will receive a one-time confirmation and no further messages will be sent.
- For support: Reply HELP or visit https://www.yumihealthgroup.com/privacy.
SMS consent is not a condition of purchasing any product or service. You may still use our services and receive email communications without consenting to SMS.
SMS consent is not shared with third parties. Your phone number and SMS opt-in consent are used solely to deliver service-related messages from Yumi Health and its licensed agents. We never sell, share, disclose, or transfer your phone number or SMS opt-in status to any third party or affiliate for SMS marketing or any other marketing purpose.
9. HIPAA Notice
Yumi Health is a licensed insurance advisory service, not a healthcare provider or health plan. As such, we are generally not a "covered entity" under HIPAA. However, we apply industry-standard protections to all health-related information you share with us. When your information is shared with insurance carriers during enrollment, those carriers are covered entities subject to HIPAA requirements.
10. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services, fulfill the purposes described in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. CMS-required compliance records (including Scope of Appointment forms and enrollment documentation) are retained for a minimum of 10 years. When your information is no longer needed, we will securely delete or anonymize it. You may request earlier deletion — see Your Choices and Rights above.
11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA): the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, the right to request deletion, the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell personal information), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. To exercise California rights, contact us at contact@yumihealthgroup.com.
12. Children
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be communicated via the website or by email where required by law. Continued use of our services after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
